To some of us lucky people, this is a no brainer but for some out there it's a very tricky situation. Working from home from the start even sound intimidating as you foresee your obstacles with noise and distractions (if you don't live alone). So the question remain, "how do we do it?" There's no simple answer as we are going to realize in times like these, you always have to do what's best for you. I, from experience, have found proven ways for me to be productive (take classes and have a side hustle) from home.

Finding my home Zen was definitely necessary in college. I realized that I was forced to then do something I never had to do before, study. At first, the only way I could get in any mindset for learning was when I stayed in the library or study room on campus. I couldn't see a way out of this habit until i realized I needed to set an intentional mindset and environment for learning.

One idea was to commit to online learning and doing online business. That meant I had to be intentional about spending time to be productive and goal orientated in these things daily at a set time. While taking online classes, deadlines kept me on track about with how much interaction I should be giving to the online class. However, discipline will come in doing things ahead of time and on time and making a daily habit of this behavior. Actually having visual representation of a hypothetical daily schedule can help with this.

Another way to prepare for working from home is to actually prepare for work. A regular routine of preparing for working is taking care of our hygiene appearance and thinking about the flow of the day, deadlines, and professional development. Physically and mentally preparing for these productivity can help manifest productivity.

To encourage production in your environment, prepare your space. There is a reason why work is a space that should be kept tidy and inviting. If you have not dedicated an area to work, do so quickly and make sure you will feel confident and comfortable there. An organized and aromatically pleasing surrounding can provide a certain structure that we need to avoid the mindset of relax. If you usually work while listening to podcast or watching documentaries, do so at home. Avoid nightlife music and gossip topics while in your periods of production. Also remember to limit phone calls and social media as if the boss were still an office across from you.

The last tip and actual labor law, is to take a break. I am speaking to the workaholics when I say that there are other things that you could be doing than more work for that company. Be just as generous to yourself and your health at this time.
